What is Pranayama?
Pranayama is Sanskrit for “control of life force” and dramatic as it sounds, that’s what it does. In pranayama, you practice breathing techniques that use the powerful physiological connection between body, breath, and mind to calm your breathing and bring your nervous system and mind under control, as well as supercharge your health and vitality.
Why should I try Pranayama?
Your breath is closely connected to your nervous system and emotions and the flow of blood and oxygen in your body. Your breathing muscles also surround your heart and a large number of important nerves, hormonal glands, organs, arteries and veins. By building awareness of your breathing and creating healthier breathing habits, you can achieve a lasting state of calmness and peace, greater full-body health and energy, and expanded consciousness of your internal mind/body connection. The breath is a tool that is always with you, so learn to use it well!
